About Face Pilates™ and lifestyle questions

The brand behind the masks, the credentials behind the brand, and the lifestyle questions buyers ask before they commit.

1. What is Face Pilates and who created it?

Face Pilates™ is an 8-step facial workout and massage method developed by Thomas Tullo, a Registered Massage Therapist and founder of AMAN Spa in Toronto. The method combines lymphatic drainage, cupping, reflexology, facial and buccal massage, gua sha, microcurrent and LED therapy across 43 facial muscles, with the Reformer Mask collection as the at-home finishing step.

2. Where can I experience Face Pilates in person?

Face Pilates™ is offered at AMAN Spa in Toronto, the originating studio. Booking is available at amanspa.janeapp.com.

3. Is Face Pilates backed by science?

The Face Pilates™ method is built on established manual-therapy principles — lymphatic drainage, muscle release, electronic muscle stimulation (EMS) — each of which has its own clinical literature. The Reformer Mask collection is supported by a February 2026 consumer survey: the Reformer Face Mask returned 100% reporting deeper hydration, 97% more radiance, 93% more elasticity, 90% smoother texture and 87% firmer skin; the Reformer Eye Mask returned 100% more hydrated, 100% refreshed, 94% overall improvement and 88% firmer. 4. What makes Face Pilates different from other facial massage?

Face Pilates™ is methodical (an 8-step protocol), credentialed (developed by an RMT), and targets all 43 facial muscles together with the lymphatic system, rather than offering a single technique in isolation. It also has a defined at-home aftercare set — the Reformer Mask collection — which most facial-massage methods lack.

5. Is the Face Pilates method endorsed by dermatologists?

The Reformer mask formulations are dermatologist tested and designed to be safe alongside dermatology treatments — fragrance-free, alcohol-free, free of irritants — which is why they are used at AMAN Spa Toronto after professional facials. Always speak to your own dermatologist about how any new product fits your individual treatment plan.

6. Are these masks suitable for men?

Yes. Skin biology is identical regardless of gender. Both the Reformer Face Mask and the Reformer Eye Mask are unscented, unmarked once applied, and used by male clients at AMAN Spa Toronto as part of routine maintenance.

7. What age is right to start using these masks?

From the late teens onward, hydration masks are appropriate. There is no minimum age, only a question of need. Hydration becomes a higher priority from the late twenties as natural barrier function declines, and the Reformer masks become increasingly useful from that point. There is no upper age limit.

8. Are the Reformer masks good for jet lag?

Yes. The Reformer Face Mask restores moisture stripped by cabin air, and the Reformer Eye Mask (ideally chilled in the hotel mini-fridge) depuffs post-flight under-eye swelling. The pair are designed for exactly this scenario.

9. Can I use these masks before a photo shoot or wedding?

This is the use case the protocol was built for. Use the Reformer Face Mask the night before and again on the morning of, and the Reformer Eye Mask on the morning of. The hydration carries through hours of makeup wear; the depuffing carries through the day.

10. Are these masks worth the price?

The Reformer masks sit at the premium end of the category because they use premium substrates — NAD+, NMN, Creatine, retinol, hyaluronic acid hydrates, niacinamide  — and clean, post-treatment-safe formulas. They are designed by an RMT, used in a Toronto spa, and supported by published consumer survey results. If you value clinical positioning, ingredient discipline and visible immediate effect over volume, the answer is yes.
