Why The Eyes Tell First

The thinnest skin on your body. Treated, mostly, like an afterthought.

The skin under your eyes is, on average, four times thinner than the skin on your cheeks. It carries fewer oil glands, less subcutaneous fat, and a denser network of fragile capillaries directly underneath. It dehydrates faster. It bruises more visibly. It registers exhaustion before any other part of your face.

Most eye creams treat this skin like an extension of your face cream — a slightly richer texture, a smaller jar, twice the price. They flood the surface with hydration and call it a result. What they do not do is address the structural reasons the under-eye area looks tired in the first place: thinning collagen, expression lines that have set into the skin, dullness from oxidative stress, and a barrier too thin to hold what they put on it.

The Reformer Under-Eye Mask was built specifically for this skin. The cooling hydrogel material conforms to the orbital bone and seals the actives against the surface. Inside the gel, a deliberate four-ingredient hero complex — SYN-AKE peptide, retinol, hyaluronic acid, and niacinamide — addresses the four structural drivers of how this area ages.

The Concerns It Solves

Six things the mirror keeps asking about. One mask answers them.

Each pillar of the formula was selected for what the eye area actually needs — not what convention dictates an eye treatment should be.

Concern 01 · Expression Lines

Lines that should not be where they are.

Fine lines around the eyes are the cumulative signature of repeated micro-contractions: every smile, every squint, every focused hour on a screen. Filler treats the surface. The deeper correction is to relax the micro-movements that create the lines in the first place.

SYN-AKE peptide is a synthetic peptide that mimics a molecule found in temple viper venom; it relaxes the micro-contractions of facial muscles topically. Acetyl Hexapeptide-8 (Argireline) works alongside it on the same pathway. Adenosine signals additional structural support.

Actives at work SYN-AKE Peptide (Dipeptide Diaminobutyroyl Benzylamide Diacetate), Argireline (Acetyl Hexapeptide-8), Adenosine.
Concern 02 · Loss of Firmness

Skin that holds its shape again.

By your thirties, the rate at which the skin around your eyes produces collagen begins to outpace its replacement, and elasticity quietly steps down. The result is not a single visible wrinkle — it is a softness of contour you can feel before you can see.

Retinol, calibrated specifically for the under-eye area, drives cellular turnover and signals new collagen production. Hydrolyzed Collagen plumps the surface while the deeper work is happening. Adenosine and SYN-AKE peptide support the structural rebuild over time.

Actives at work Retinol, Hydrolyzed Collagen, Adenosine, SYN-AKE Peptide, Hydroxyphenyl Propamidobenzoic Acid.
Concern 03 · Dehydration & Crepey Texture

Skin that drinks, where it usually cannot.

Under-eye skin loses water faster than anywhere else on the face. The barrier is thinner, the lipid layer is sparser, and most products evaporate as fast as they go on. A proper hydrogel solves part of this through occlusion alone — sealing the actives against the skin while they work.

Inside the gel, a layered humectant complex draws and holds moisture in the dermis. Hydrolyzed Collagen and Macadamia Oil rebuild the lipid layer that retains it. Trehalose protects cells against future dehydration the way it does in the desert plants it was first studied in.

Actives at work Sodium Hyaluronate, Glycerin, Betaine, Trehalose, Hydrolyzed Collagen, Macadamia Ternifolia Seed Oil.
Concern 04 · Dullness & Uneven Tone

The brightness sleep used to provide.

The under-eye area dulls faster than the rest of the face because the skin is thinner and the structures beneath it — tired capillaries, oxidative residue, slowed turnover — show through more visibly. Brightening, here, is not about lightening pigment; it is about reviving how light bounces off the surface.

Niacinamide (Vitamin B3) is one of the most-studied brightening and barrier-strengthening actives in dermatology. A curated panel of botanical antioxidants — green tea, rosehip, grapefruit — defends against the oxidative load that produces visible dullness.

Actives at work Niacinamide, Camellia Sinensis (Green Tea) Leaf Extract, Rosa Canina (Rosehip) Fruit Extract, Citrus Paradisi (Grapefruit) Fruit Extract, Raspberry Ketone.
Concern 05 · Tired-Looking Eyes

For the eyes that tell on you.

Travel. Late nights. The screen you cannot put down. Your eyes carry the bill for all of it — first as a slight grey undertone, then as visible puffiness, then as the kind of tired no concealer can hide. The cooling hydrogel itself does part of the work, before the actives even begin.

The cool conforming gel encourages lymphatic drainage in the orbital area; niacinamide and the botanical antioxidant complex address visible discolouration; SYN-AKE and Argireline smooth the lines that fatigue carves into the skin first.

Actives at work Cooling hydrogel material, Niacinamide, SYN-AKE Peptide, Argireline, botanical antioxidant blend.
Concern 06 · Sensitivity & Reactivity

Resilience under everything you ask of it.

Retinol is a powerful ingredient. Used carelessly, it can sensitize the very skin it is meant to renew — particularly under the eyes. The Reformer Under-Eye Mask was deliberately formulated to deliver retinol at a meaningful dose while pairing it with a calming, retinol-buffering complex that protects the barrier as the active does its work.

Allantoin calms and supports repair. Aloe Vera soothes. Dipotassium Glycyrrhizate (licorice derivative) and Matrine quiet visible reactivity. Macadamia Oil buffers the retinol itself.

Actives at work Allantoin, Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Extract, Dipotassium Glycyrrhizate, Matrine, Macadamia Ternifolia Seed Oil.
The Hero Ingredients

Three ingredients doing the heavy lifting.

The formula is built around three actives premium skin care has spent the last decade learning to use well together. Each does a job the others cannot.

SYN-AKE Peptide

The synthetic snake-venom peptide.

SYN-AKE (Dipeptide Diaminobutyroyl Benzylamide Diacetate) is a synthetic peptide that mimics a molecule found in temple viper venom. It interrupts the micro-contractions that produce expression lines around the eyes — topically, gently, without disturbing anything below the surface.

Retinol

The gold standard, tuned for the eye area.

Retinol is the most thoroughly studied active in skin care for cellular turnover and collagen synthesis. We selected a concentration calibrated specifically for the thin under-eye barrier and buffered it with macadamia oil and aloe to keep the active gentle on reactive skin.

Niacinamide

The multi-tasker.

Niacinamide (Vitamin B3) strengthens the skin barrier, brightens uneven tone, calms inflammation, and defends against oxidation — four jobs at once, executed at a clinically meaningful dose. One of the few actives suited to the demands of the eye area without compromise.

The Formula, In Full

What is in it, and what each part is doing.

The Reformer Under-Eye Mask is built in six functional layers, tuned for the structural realities of the eye area.

Line-Smoothing Peptides
SYN-AKE Peptide (Dipeptide Diaminobutyroyl Benzylamide Diacetate), Argireline (Acetyl Hexapeptide-8), Adenosine. A topical peptide complex that softens the micro-contractions producing expression lines around the eyes.
Renewal & Texture
Retinol, Hydrolyzed Collagen. Under-eye-calibrated retinol drives cellular turnover and signals collagen synthesis. Hydrolyzed collagen plumps the surface as the deeper work happens.
Multi-Level Hydration
Sodium Hyaluronate, Glycerin, Betaine, Trehalose, Macadamia Ternifolia Seed Oil. A layered humectant system that attracts, holds, and locks moisture in skin that loses it faster than anywhere else on the face.
Radiance & Tone
Niacinamide, Camellia Sinensis (Green Tea) Leaf Extract, Citrus Paradisi (Grapefruit) Fruit Extract, Rosa Canina (Rosehip) Fruit Extract, Raspberry Ketone. Brightening and antioxidant defense for visible dullness and oxidative damage.
Calm & Retinol-Buffering
Allantoin, Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Extract, Dipotassium Glycyrrhizate, Matrine, Macadamia Oil. A calming complex deliberately matched to the retinol in the formula, so the active can deliver results without sensitizing the barrier it is meant to renew.
Antioxidant & Barrier Defense
Niacinamide, Hydroxyphenyl Propamidobenzoic Acid, Hydroxypropyl Cyclodextrin. Environmental defense against the oxidative load that accelerates visible aging around the eyes.

Independent Study

The numbers, from the people who used it.

Sixteen participants. Six weeks. Self-reported on a five-point scale. The eye-area results are, frankly, among the strongest we have ever recorded.

100%Eye area feels more hydrated
100%Under-eye area looks smoother
100%Eye area looks refreshed & well-rested
94%Overall appearance of eye area improved
88%Skin around eyes looks firmer

Survey data collected February 2026. Results based on participant self-reporting using a 5-point Likert scale. % Positive = combined Agree or Strongly Agree.

The Ritual

Fifteen minutes. Two to three times a week.

Like the Face Mask, the Eye Mask is built for consistency rather than rescue. The protocol below is what the study participants used to produce the numbers above.

01

Cleanse

Start with freshly cleansed skin around the eye. Skip your usual eye cream beneath — the mask is the treatment.

02

Place

Peel each hydrogel from its backing and place under the eye, curved edge along the orbital bone, smooth side against the skin.

03

Rest

Leave on for fifteen to twenty minutes. The cool conforming gel is doing its work; close the eyes if you can spare it.

04

Press In

Remove and press the remaining serum gently into the skin with the pads of your ring fingers. Do not rinse.

05

Repeat

Use two to three times per week, or before any morning that demands you look more rested than you feel.

Questions, Answered

What people actually ask us.

What is SYN-AKE? Does this product contain snake venom?

SYN-AKE is a synthetic peptide — Dipeptide Diaminobutyroyl Benzylamide Diacetate — that mimics the action of a molecule found in temple viper venom. The peptide is laboratory-made, not derived from any animal, and is used topically to relax the micro-contractions that produce expression lines. There is no actual snake venom in the formula.

How is this different from an eye cream?

An eye cream is meant to be worn all day in small amounts; it inherits the limits of a cream. A hydrogel mask delivers a far higher concentration of actives, occluded against the skin for fifteen to twenty minutes — long enough for the formula to penetrate the under-eye barrier. The retinol, SYN-AKE peptide, and niacinamide concentrations here are calibrated for the depth and duration of a treatment-grade session, not an ambient daily application.

How often should I use it?

Two to three times per week is the protocol participants used to produce the six-week study results above. Many also reserve a mask for the morning before an event or after a short night — the cooling and smoothing effects are most noticeable in the first hour after removal.

Why hydrogel and not biocellulose?

The two materials serve different purposes. Biocellulose is dense, fibrous, and conforms aggressively to the contoured surface of the full face. Hydrogel is softer, cooler, and conforms more gently — better suited to the delicate skin and the curved orbital bone of the eye area. The cool conforming gel is also the right vehicle for retinol, which benefits from steady, sealed contact rather than fast absorption.

Can I use it with my retinol eye cream?

This mask already contains retinol, calibrated for the under-eye area and buffered for sensitivity. Using a separate retinol eye cream in the same session is more active load than the area benefits from. Alternate evenings, or use this mask in place of your retinol cream on the days you use it.

Will it help with dark circles?

Dark circles are complicated — they can be pigment-driven, structural, or vascular, and most are a combination. The formula brightens visible discolouration with niacinamide and a botanical antioxidant complex, and improves how light reflects off the surface through deep hydration and cellular renewal. It cannot change the underlying bone structure of your face, but it will visibly change what sits on top of it.

Is it safe for sensitive eye-area skin?

The retinol in the formula is buffered with macadamia oil, aloe vera, allantoin, dipotassium glycyrrhizate, and matrine — a calming complex deliberately matched to the active. Most people with reactive skin tolerate the mask well at the recommended cadence of two to three times per week. For very reactive skin, broken skin, retinoid-intolerant skin, or active dermatological conditions, consult your dermatologist before introducing any new product.

When will I see results?

Many participants reported visible smoothness and brightness within the first session — this is the SYN-AKE peptide and the cooling hydrogel doing their immediate work. The deeper changes — firmness, refined texture, sustained line softening — compounded across the six-week study. The first use shows you the formula is working. Six weeks shows you what it can build.
