Reformer Under-Eye Mask

Already own the face mask and had to try the eye one. Awesome , easy and effective. At this price it's a easy addition to skin routine

If there's one thing I love it is skin care and skin care products. I travel often throughout the year to Japan, South Korea, Italy and France so I'm always trying different products. I want to preface my review by saying I understand that just because an item is inexpensive does not mean that it necessarily will or will not work well and the same can be said for items that are expensive or more luxury marketed. The Face Pilates Reformer Eye Mask is definitely more of a luxury under eye treatment than a regular tub of eye patches. The box comes with 8 hydrogel under eye masks, so at around $54, you are paying around $6.75 per use. That is not cheap, so I would not treat these like something you would casually use every single day or even every other day.

The actual feel of them is really nice though. They have that cooling hydrogel texture that sits comfortably under the eyes and gives more of a spa treatment feeling. I liked them more for days when my eyes look tired, puffy, or a bit dull. This would definitely not be something I would incorporate as part of daily skincare routine.

The ingredient list is also more interesting than a most other hydrating eye patches. It has hyaluronic acid, niacinamide, caffeine, retinol, adenosine, and peptides, including SYN-AKE peptide (snake venom peptide) and acetyl hexapeptide 8. So it is focuses on hydration, smoother looking skin, reducing puffiness, fine lines, and dark circles to give you a refreshed and rested under eye.

After after using the entire box of these eye patches I did find my under eye area looked noticeably fresher after using them. Not in a dramatic miracle way, but enough that I could see how using this is part of maintenance routine could help over time.

The price is the main thing to think about. These are not really the best value if you are just looking for basic eye patches to keep in the fridge and use all the time. But if you want something that feels more elevated and you are using them for specific days, then I can see why someone would like them.

I would use these more as a treat or before an event rather than as a daily product. They feel wonderful, the work well, the ingredient list is strong, and the packaging is excellent. Although there is a bit of plastic packaging I really like that I was able to kind of scoop up any excess serum and pat it all around my eye area even after putting on the patches.

So if like me your attention was immediately grabbed by the snake venom peptide in the ingredient list here is what I found after a bit of research. It is not real snake venom; it is a synthetic peptide that is inspired by a something found in temple viper venom. Essentially in skincare it is mostly used for a temporary smoothing effect.

From what I understand it is supposed to help soften the look of fine lines.

I love using eye masks in the morning, and this one stands out as one of the better ones I've tried. They are individually packaged with a lot of essence, so they can be worn as a treatment for a pretty long time I find, without drying out. My under eye area is visibly smoothed and glowy after removal.

They are the perfect thickness and weight...they are not too heavy and don't slide down my face at all! I can comfortably do my thing, without any slip. The curved shape of them is very gradual and they fit my eyes great while covering a large area.

One thing I have to be alert to is that since they contain retinol, I have to ensure I use sun protection if going out. I like using eye masks in the morning, and skincare actives at night, so that is one compromise I''ve had to make with these.
